My Name is Ryan. I’m a Commercial Director based in Michigan by way of California and Oregon.
My directing style is characterized by a natural ability to connect easily with others. Clients and collaborators describe me as a people-person.
I take a curated and artistic approach to filmmaking, focusing on intentionally composed and stylized visuals that tell stories, highlight products and express concepts.
I have a growing interest in architecture and a compulsive inclination for grid based design systems. I’m a sucker for meeting at coffee shops and I'm oddly passionate about handwriting shot-lists on index cards.
Friday nights are spent watching films with the fam, weekends feature impromptu backyard hangs and Monday nights at 7 PM I play proper football with my besties.
I have a BA in Cinema and Broadcast Arts from Azusa Pacific University. Before relocating to Michigan, I was a Producer at Cinco Design in Portland, OR.
The Princess Bride (film) was released the year I was born.
